Turkey Sandwich

What could be easier than a sandwich? This turkey sandwich, actually there are a few slices of roast beef on here as well, was not only easy to assemble but it's cheap to make.

Turkey Sandwich

We all headed down to the lake on this beautiful sunny day to go tubing.

Isn't that a beautiful view?

Lake

Here we are on the boat ...

Lake

You see the tube? I'd never been tubing ...

But my sister in-law wouldn't take no for an answer ...

... So I said, what the hell. You gotta have fun in life, right?

So we continued to make our way further up the lake ...

Lake

Weren't we talking about sandwiches? ...

Oh, yea! We sure were ...

Ok! sorry about that trip down memory lane ...

See what I'm talking about? Food brings back family memories and how sweet and cherished they are ...

I made this sandwich on a family trip to the lake in Seattle, WA ...

How I made the sandwich ...

You Need ...

  • Hoagie buns for all of your crew
  • Enough turkey, bologna, roast beef, roast chicken, salami or whatever other meat you prefer on your sandwich
  • Variety of sandwich sliced cheese (i.e. Cheddar, provolone, swiss, etc.)
  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Mayonaise or miracle whip (Miracle whip was always a favorite of our family's growing up. There I go again, reminiscing!)
  • Mustard for you mustard lovers

Assemble ...

  1. Cut the hoagie bun in half.
  2. Spread 1-2 tsp of mayo, miracle whip, and mustard on each side of the bread.
  3. Place 1-2 slices cheese
  4. layer the veges - tomato, lettuce, onion, and pickles
  5. Top with meat of your choice.

There you have it ...

Turkey Sandwich

... a tasty healthy sandwich.

Serve with chips or vegetable sticks and a beverage.

Bon appétit!
